Across the world, governments have specified minimum security requirements for IoT products that must be met before they can be sold to consumers. Unfortunately, each region has a different set of requirements. Full compliance in some regions is also a legal requirement, whereas in others it is optional. Developing a product for sale across multiple regions must comply with each region's requirements and can seem a huge challenge!
Fortunately, the different security requirements share an underlying set of common practices. Following a development path that includes these common practices is the key to satisfying the different regional requirements.
The PSTI has been a wake-up call for manufacturers and suppliers in the UK market, while the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the US Cyber Trust Mark are soon to be implemented.
This webinar will highlight the core principles of a Secure-by-Design development lifecycle to enable compliance. Finally, we will introduce the Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms (SESIP) and show how this helps to demonstrate compliance across multiple regions.
