Webinar Overview:

  • Are you considering using Linux on your next embedded system project?
  • Do you want to find out more about the practical application of embedded Linux?

Then start here...

This webinar will discuss each of the components required for Linux to work on an embedded system:

  • Linux kernel
  • Toolchain
  • Bootloader
  • Filesystem

We'll review how each of these components fit into the system and what functionality they provide for development and in the final deployed product. There is also a wide number of choices to be made in sourcing the different software components, from commercial suppliers to free, open-source software. We will review some of these choices, looking at what options there are for creating an integrated development environment for embedded Linux. We'll look finally at the support for RISC-V architecture within Linux, in particular the PolarFire family of SoC FPGAs from Microchip,  a supported ecosystem of devices that can run Linux.
